Shopping + Travel = Inspiration

Last summer, our family of 5 took a trip to Italy.  It was our second time in 2 years bringing the kids to my absolute favorite country.  I love everything about Italy: the food, the wine, the landscape, the architecture, the people and of course, the shopping!!  For those of you that don't know me, my father was born in Italy which makes traveling to Italy extra special for our family.  We get to spend time with family and get a glimpse into local life there.

In July, we spent 5 days in Florence.  My husband and I both love this city so much.  A place that I first visited at the age of 17 and returned in my early 20's to live and study.  It's walkable, full of spectacular art and amazing food.  But one of the other things that I love about Florence is all the unique shops there. One afternoon, a local Florentine woman named Silvia introduced me to a shop called UASHMAMA; prounounced Washmama.  A beautiful shop full of colorful bags and home decor.  I instantly fell in love with the shop.  After browsing around, the saleperson started to explain to me how all the bags are made with their signature washable paper making their products eco-friendly.  Everything is made in Tuscany and designed by a local family.  All products are carefully sourced and the company employs all local artisans and craftsman who are meticulous at their trade. It was so unique and so unlike what you find at home.  I knew I had to make a purchase.  Although it was hard to decide, I ended up with the Guilia Tote.

Once I returned home, I started using the tote on a daily basis.  Started throwing my laptop in, snacks, books and even my daughter's swimming gear.  It quickly became my "go-to" tote.  It's durable without sacrificing fashion.

Right before Christmas, I sat down and was reviewing all the brands that I carry.  I started doing a deeper dive into whether or not I wanted to introduce new brands in 2025. I am particular about the brands that I select and really care about the quality of the materials. After some reflection time, I decided to reach out to UASHMAMA and see if they had interest in developing a business relationship with Studio 128.  The answer was yes and I am beyond thrilled to bring some of my favorite UASHMAMA items to Studio 128's collection.  The bags are available in studio (The Core Place) in Maplewood and online.  Browse online-believe me it's hard to choose because there are so many great ones!! Happy shopping!  Shop the newest arrivals now!
